Manohar Adhikari

Manohar Adhikari is a programmer turned entrepreneur and the founder of Foodmandu, a food service and technology company in Nepal. He launched the business in Kathmandu in 2010, bootstrapping the venture for its first seven years using his own resources and the support of his small software outsourcing team. In the early days, Adhikari actively managed the backend programming and system development himself. Despite facing a slow market adoption where most orders initially came through phone lines, he guided the company through its transition to a mobile-first platform, launching Foodmandu's mobile application in late 2015.

Under Adhikari's leadership, Foodmandu expanded its operations to Pokhara in 2021 and secured institutional investments, including a private equity partnership in 2016 and a recent foreign direct investment of over 40 crore. He is currently steering the company toward profitability and scale, with plans to introduce cloud kitchen infrastructure to support local food entrepreneurs. As an introverted leader who values focus, planning, and critical thinking, Adhikari remains deeply committed to driving innovation in Nepal's food tech sector while maintaining a hopeful and positive outlook on the country's economic future.
