Anjana Malla

Anjana Malla is the CEO and co-founder of Digo Nepal, an environmentally conscious social enterprise she established to offer sustainable alternatives to plastic. Prior to her entrepreneurial journey, she studied social work and built a career in the NGO and INGO sectors, serving as an enterprise coordinator for the Asia-Pacific region and managing projects related to women's empowerment and reproductive health. Seeking a more sustainable and impactful way to execute her ideas without relying on external funding cycles, she chose to transition into business to foster long-term economic independence for local communities.

Through Digo Nepal, Malla coordinates the production of handmade, eco-friendly products such as bags, bamboo items, and baskets woven from natural wild grasses. The enterprise empowers a network of over one hundred women artisans, particularly from the indigenous Tharu community in Bardiya, Dang, and Kapilvastu, by providing them with consistent work and direct compensation. Committed to promoting ethical values and changing narratives around female entrepreneurs, she focuses on strengthening her brand locally through digital platforms while preparing to scale the business internationally.
