Pukar C. Hamal

Pukar C. Hamal is the founder of Security Pal, a customer assurance platform designed to accelerate security and compliance reviews for global companies. Born in Kathmandu in 1991, Hamal spent his early childhood in Darchula without indoor electricity or plumbing before immigrating to Queens, New York, in 1999. A standout student, he conducted biochemistry research at Columbia University as a high schooler and placed second at the 2008 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, an achievement that led MIT to name a minor planet in his honor. He later attended Stanford University on a full scholarship, where he studied science and technology and began his journey into Silicon Valley's startup ecosystem.

Before launching Security Pal, Hamal co-founded the startup Teamable at age twenty-four. He later founded Security Pal, raising twenty-one million dollars from prominent Silicon Valley investors to build a platform that now serves major clients like OpenAI, Snapchat, and Figma. Operating out of offices in San Francisco, New York, and Kathmandu, Hamal is deeply passionate about creating high-value jobs in both the United States and Nepal. Driven by a multi-decade vision to build a hundred-billion-dollar company, he champions absurd ambition and works to establish Kathmandu as a global technology hub under the brand Silicon Peaks.
