Sanjay Kafle
Sanjay Kafle is an agricultural scholar and the initiator of Best Mad Honey, a brand dedicated to sourcing and marketing Nepal's rare, wild cliff honey. After discovering traditional honey hunting practices in Lamjung during his undergraduate studies, Sanjay launched his business in 2017 to provide local hunters with a secure market and high-quality branding. Today, he is completing his master's thesis on mad honey and leading the non-profit Youth for Agri Welfare. Through this organization, he has secured grants from WWF and USAID to support honey-hunting communities with sustainable livelihood projects, homestays, and agricultural technologies like solar dryers.
An avid backpacker, Sanjay has traveled through 55 districts of Nepal and founded the platform Nepal Travel Tales to share stories of the people and places he encounters. He is deeply committed to personal discipline, maintaining a daily running ritual for over a year and practicing cold-water therapy. Guided by his philosophy to focus on the journey rather than the destination, Sanjay leverages his experiences to build deep community connections, empower local producers, and promote sustainable adventure tourism across Nepal.
