Laxman Paudyal

Laxman Paudyal is a director, writer, and editor who grew up in Gulmi under the disciplined guidance of his father, an Indian Army veteran. His lifelong ambition to direct was sparked during his early school years when his father explained that the director is the true force behind a film's creation. To prepare for this career, Paudyal studied journalism and mass communication with a major in English, drawing creative inspiration from Shakespearean tragedies. He began his professional career in India, directing and editing crime, thriller, and detective television series, which helped him develop a rich technical understanding of suspense, camera shots, and background music.

In Nepal, Paudyal has directed some of the country's largest television projects, including the local detective series Kilo Tango Mike on Kantipur Television and major international franchises such as Nepal Idol, Dancing with the Stars, and both the adult and kids editions of The Voice of Nepal. Known for his ability to manage large casts and navigate the creative challenges of the domestic entertainment industry, he prioritizes authentic human emotion and disciplined production standards. Paudyal is currently preparing to transition into feature filmmaking, with plans to direct films that experiment with advanced audio mixing, visual focus, and original local narratives.
