Biraj Khadka

Biraj Khadka is the co-founder of the plant brand I Am The Gardener and the Managing Director of Khadka Nursery, a family business that has been operating for over two decades. With a strong background in production, Khadka oversees the agricultural and operational aspects of the brand, focusing on the cultivation and quality of their plants. He initially proposed the name for the venture to proudly elevate the status of gardening, which was historically viewed as a low-skill profession in Nepal.

Khadka is committed to modernizing and industrializing Nepal's horticulture industry by investing in research and development and establishing process-driven production systems. In 2018, he participated in the Rockstar pitching sessions to expand the business, which ultimately led him to leverage government-subsidized agricultural loans to fund the brand's growth. He continues to focus on building skilled teams, sharing production knowledge with local growers, and expanding a hybrid retail and e-commerce model to make plants accessible throughout the country.
