Ashutosh Mani Dixit

Ashutosh Mani Dixit is an economist and data consultant who began his professional career as a commercial banker at Standard Chartered Bank from 2009 to 2012, where he focused on retail banking and small and medium enterprises. Seeking to build his skills in analyzing large datasets, he received a scholarship to study economics at the Australian National University. Upon returning to Nepal, he spent three years consulting for the National Planning Commission and the World Bank, and he has also worked as a contractor for the United Nations and OECD France. Alongside his consulting work, he spent ten years as a part-time lecturer teaching business courses at Kathmandu University and Apex College.

Dixit is a strong advocate for evidence-based analytics and has actively worked to improve data literacy, including leading a one-hundred-hour workshop series during his time at the World Bank. He champions the integration and anonymization of administrative and alternative data sources to help governments design better policies and monitor progress. Believing that no data should be left behind, he focuses his career on bringing efficiency to data collection and utilizing information to support sustainable development goals and identify marginalized communities.
