Hemanta Shrestha

Hemanta Shrestha is a tech entrepreneur and quantitative economist who began his academic and professional journey in the United States in 1992. After completing his PhD in Economics, he taught the subject for a year at the University of Hartford before transitioning into the corporate sector to gain private-sector experience. Over the course of sixteen years in Corporate America, Shrestha built a career specializing in data analytics and quantitative economics, working for major telecommunications and technology companies including AT&T, Verizon Mobile, and Nokia.

In 2013, Shrestha made the decision to leave his comfortable career in the United States and return to Nepal to care for his aging parents. Driven by a desire to transfer his knowledge and give back to his home country, he entered entrepreneurship around the age of fifty. Today, he runs two technology companies in Nepal, serving as the CEO of the clinical trial data company Numeric Mind and co-founding the artificial intelligence company WYZACK, which collectively employ more than one hundred local computer engineers and data scientists.
