Dipesh Tripathi

Dipesh Tripathi is a storyteller and content creator who grew up in Dhading, where he completed his early schooling before moving to Kathmandu to attend St. Xavier's. He went on to study Computer Science and IT in college, a choice that allowed him the free time to experiment with various creative fields such as writing, camera handling, and directing. After exploring screenwriting and theater, he co-founded a film production company in 2021. Although the company eventually closed due to overthinking and challenges with execution, the experience helped shape his approach to creative work and taught him the importance of taking action over seeking immediate perfection.

Following these early ventures, Dipesh focused his efforts on his YouTube channel, The Nepali Comment, which he originally started during the 2020 lockdown to improve his video editing skills. The channel has since grown into a sustainable, for-profit business operated by a team of eight people, including dedicated researchers and editors. Rather than identifying as a traditional journalist, Dipesh views himself as a storyteller with facts, utilizing a rigorous research process and a visual-first approach to explain complex historical, political, and contemporary subjects. Guided by his love for reading and a deeply analytical perspective, he continues to focus on delivering high-quality, valuable content to his audience.
