Bikram Shrestha

Bikram Shrestha is an established technology and finance leader with nearly two decades of experience in the Nepali banking sector. He began his career as an IT intern at the Bank of Kathmandu, where he spent ten years and rose to head the card division. For the past eight years, he has served as the head of the digital banking department at Sanima Bank, where he champions technological integration, digital branch development, and user-friendly features such as disability-friendly websites and Nepali-language mobile applications. Shrestha started his early internet career in his native Hetauda using basic VSAT technology. A dedicated advocate for open access, he served as the chairman of the Internet Society Nepal chapter in 2017, promoting net neutrality and raising awareness about the environmental impacts of digital infrastructure.

In addition to his corporate career, Shrestha is a creative artist, singer, and songwriter who publishes Rajbanshi literature under the name Bikram Rajbanshi. Guided by his late guru Bhim Birag, who named his debut album Chinari, Shrestha continues to release musical projects annually, including his popular song Jeevan Hamro Thiyo and a recent track about the internet. He approaches life with a philosophy of simple living and high thinking, striving to maintain a healthy balance between his personal, family, corporate, social, and community commitments. Shrestha views learning as a lifelong process and remains dedicated to mentoring youth and sharing his experiences to foster a more connected and digitally literate society.
